I Slipped.

I'm supposed to be making only Christmas cards all week, but I caved to temptation. Nothing unusual about that. Plus I used up all the holiday card ideas that I had mental stored and thought working on a different project would give me time to regroup.
Glad I did as this card was super fun to make. Quick too.

Made for The Paper Variety's THREADS challenge.
Also for Sir Stamp Alot's ANYTHING GOES challenge.
I am off to watch a movie with hubby, hope you have a great weekend,
Farrah

On a Roll...

Two posts today. I didn't think this card would get done in time. I had to take my pics at night, but atleast I didn't miss the
City Crafter DO YA DOODLE challenge. This card is also for the Lawnscaping ONE LAYER challenge.

I'm dedicating the next couple of weeks to Christmas cards. 14 days.... I wonder how many I can get done?
Thanks for looking,
Farrah

XOXO Card.

I made this with 2 challenges in mind. First this sketch at CAS-ual Fridays. and the citrus colours challenge at The Paper Variety.

I struggled with this card. It didn't work out the way I expected so a lot of it I made up as I went along. For me, when in doubt - use some felt. It doesn't necessarily turn a card into a stunner, but it's so fun to work with that it cheers me up :)

Thanks,
Farrah

Get Well Card.

Almost time to make lunch for the kidlets, so a quick post. (Summertime is supposed to feel more relaxed than school time but so far that is not the case!) It's weird but yesterday I was thinking about when all the kids are at school and one of them is sick and stays home for the day, and I actually look forward to that because it'll be nice to have some one-on-one time with them. It must be a twin thing, as I am always with the both of them at the same time.

I made this card for the LawnScaping distress it challenge and CAS-ual Fridays glitzy glue dots/strips challenge.

Thanks for looking, I'm thinking egg and cheese on toast for lunch,
Farrah

Castle Jewelery Box.

In June I went to Chapters for an end of year gift for my daughter's teacher. Because I had my boys with me I had to let them play around in the kids section. This, however, doesn't bore me at all. I love ALL books and could spend hours even browsing through the children's ones. In a book filled with girlie crafts I came across a jewelery box made in the shape of a castle. Amazing. It used recycled Kleenex boxes and paper towel rolls. I switched up the design of it and used patterned papers and made this.

I wanted it to be bold and bright so that it would be appealing to a young girl but I think it would look good with a vintage style too.

There are lots of places for rings, and bracelets, and necklaces.

This is the view from the back.

Finally, a sweet/funny pic of the kids that I took this weekend. Adam has a very nice natural smile but put him infront of a camera and this is what you get.

For these challenges -
City Crafter. HOME SWEET HOME. I've been so busy that I haven't played in a while. I'm glad I made it in time.
Sir Stamp Alot. ANYTHING GOES.

HBD2U

I'm ignoring the fact that I have housework to do and thought I'd post a card instead. The kids are upstairs playing "concert" with some made up instruments so I'm really not in a hurry to head up there to do the laundry.

I made this card for the CAS-ual Fridays THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT challenge. The card has to be 9 x 4.
For the hint of blue thru the middle of the card I used the really difficult technique of rubbing ink on the paper with a baby wipe :) The yellow around the clock is tissue paper, the heart is felt, and some stitching to tie it all together.

Thanks for looking,
Farrah
