It's A Party.

I finally finished my daughter's birthday invites. They were so fun to make because she helped out a lot. I love when we get some quiet girl time together. She's really growing to be so crafty, but I think my son Nathan will end up surpassing her in creativity sooner or later. He puts an outstanding effort into all his drawings and has an amazing eye for details. The other day he drew a rainbow that was just beautiful.

As my daughter is having a Makeover party its only girls that will be attending so I didn't have to make an overwhelming amount of invites. So I indulged a little and made pouches for them too.

All the party deets are on the back. I didn't take a pic because I'm not crazy about posting my address on blogland for just anyone to see ;)

The papers are from a Martha Stewart collection that I've had for quite a while and the top is tissue paper that I crinkled up into a ball shape.
As I was in the middle of making these City Crafter posted their new challenge which is IT'S A CELEBRATION. You have to use a banner and/or the word PARTY on your project. These invites aren't exactly as I first planned because I switched them up a little to include both!
Also for a challenge blog that I just recently discovered, and love!!The Paper Variety. Fantastic DT work. They have a great combination of cards and layouts to draw inspiration from. The challenge is MAKE YOUR OWN 1-2-3. I've used 1 tissue pompom, 2 buttons and 3 patterned papers.

Spring HAS Sprung!!

It looks and (sorta) feels like Spring outside, and that is the newest challenge we have for you at Kaboodle Doodles! So you can enter with ANY project you want that is Sping related. You could win 2 free images from The Crafty Pad or our TOP 3 blinkie for your blog! I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with. I think that's my fav thing about being on the design team- visiting everyone's blogs. Some of the work is just amazing!
I decided not to make a card. I say this great tutorial from SCS a long time ago and finally got around to making a paper watering can.

All the flowers are tissue paper. The PP is from October Afternoon.
And, of course, the digi is from our sponser.

Springy Card Set.

Well I had a good week. Everyone here is healthy and happy. Now that this card set is finished I'm planning to start my daughter's birthday party invites. She's having a Diva MakeOver themed party. Including karaoke. It's gonna be so great watching a bunch of overly makeup'ed 7 year olds singing along to Hannah Montana and Justin Bieber. (Her requests, not mine! LOL!)
Also... while I have your attention, I found a really great blog that you can see here. Very elegant and expertly put together work.

My card set.

For the bazaar and these challenges -
Crafts and Me. ANYTHING GOES
The Paper Variety. TIC TAC TOE ( I've used 2+ flowers, spring colours, and scallops.)
Sassy Studios. FLOWERS
Creative Inspirations. NO SQUARE CARDS.
Thanks,
Farrah

Colour Combo.

Hello all. Good weekend? It was bright and sunny here. Still kinda cold, but better than the last few weekends. And it's SPRING!! We spend the day yesterday at the cottage. Even managed to get the 4-wheelers out for a little. The kids love riding them. I enjoy it too, but prefer when they're not on them because then my hubby and I race each other!! I never win. I haven't the nerve to pass 60 km/h but still fun.
Today begins our newest challenge at Kaboodle Doodles. It's a colour combo of PINK BLUE YELLOW AND GREEN. So bright.
The sponser is Wink Wink Ink and the winner will receive $15 to spend in their store!! There is also the Top 3 blinkie up for grabs so I hope you'll play along!!
For my card I wanted to keep it CAS.

As you can see my mojo vanished for this card. I've come to realize that whenever I visit the in-laws I cannot do any crafting that same night. My father-in-law is terminally ill and I think I get too sad seeing him to be creative.

Hmmmmm.

I've debated with myself over whether or not to post this card. I honestly can't tell how I feel about it. Over at the always inspiring Moxie Fab World the newest challenge is all about CityScapes. As I was snooping around at some of the entries I noticed that some of the ladies are using a symbol font that resembles a building. How CLEVER is that!!! That's why I love Moxie Fab World!! Not only is Cath brilliant, but a lot of the cards that are entered are too! Anyways, it got me thinking.

Kinda rough and industrial. But is it any good, or is it rubbish... I'm really not sure. Either way, I decided to share.

Birthday Time.

Not for me. Thank goodness. I've come to dread getting another year older.
It's the challenge starting today at Kaboodle Doodles!!
BIRTHDAY!
I find I don't need as many birthday cards as I once did. I used to make them for my daughter's friends whenever she went to their parties. Now she just does it herself. And I do love seeing her creations. Full of hearts and glitter and backwards written letters. But tags are always useful.
Our sponser this time is Paper Pretties and the name fits because their images are so pretty!! I've, of course, used one for my tag.

So be sure to play along with your Birthday creations!
Thanks,
Farrah

Think Spring!!

I'm trying really hard to keep in mind that Spring is near. It's hard though, as I haven't seen the sun in weeks!! Nothing but a nasty rain/snow gloom here. I had fun last night though. Went out to the movies to see Red Riding Hood with Sandra. She reminded me that we are now at the 6 month mark for the Craft Bazaar!! I've done tons of cards, but not so much of anything else, but I do have this! This project is the love child of City Crafter and Moxie Fab World. The City Crafter challenge is "In My Pocket". I love the added dimension that a tag or pocket can add to a project. I decided to make 4 seed packets and then an oversized pouch to hold them. I used the wonderful Trigger Tuesday as inspiration for the images and colours.

The layout to eack packet is the same. Only I used a different vintage image, papers and ribbons on each because I wanted it to be colourful!!

The packets fold back with a strip of double-sided tape to hold them closed. This also fits into another of my "can't miss it" challenges. Sir Stamp Alot. They have a Springtime theme this month!

Thanks for stopping by, hope everybody is having a good weekend!

Seeing Green.

Happy Monday blogger friends, I hope you all had a good weekend.
It's time for our new challenge at Kaboodle Doodles.
GO GREEN!! So for your project we'd like to see it primarly green. It's fine if other colours are part of the mix too though!!
The prize up for grabs is 3 free digis from Card Mad Fairy. Tons of fun images to choose from! There is also the Top 3 up for grabs!
Here is my card, using a digi from our sponser!

I kept the embellishing to a minimum. I thought anything more might be overwhelming with the multiple patterned paper background.

Before you go I've a couple of things I'd like to share. First, the talented Chris made a bunch of WONDERFUL sentiment tickets which are available for free on her blog!! They're outstanding! You'll be glad when you check it out.
Secondly, my blogger and real-life friend Sandra gave me this the other day.

It's a huge box filled with fabric swatches. She picked it up on a trip to the local recycling depot. And everything you get there is FREE!!! We've gotten wicker baskets, antique buttons, tins for altering and lots of other neat stuff there in the past. So if you have one near where you are it's a great place to visit for the thrifty crafter. Thanks again Sandra!!
That's all folks. My GO GREEN card is also for these challenges -
ECP Challenges.
Card Makin' Mamas.
Fairy Knoll.
Do You Stack Up.
ALL ARE USE GREEN!!!
Thanks for looking,
Farrah

CYDA Guest Design Project.

I'm not really sure when I started blogging, I guess it would have been about a year ago. One of the first challenge blogs that inspired me to join this online world was Magical Crafts. I would look forward to seeing the DT's work every other week. Well Magical Crafts is gone now but most of the DT combined forces and created Craft Your Days Away and now here I am being a Guest Designer for a challenge!! I couldn't be more thrilled!!
The challenge is BLACK AND WHITE!!
A fun theme but oh so difficult for me. Those of you familiar with my posts know I don't work well without colour and lots of it but I actually like what I came up with this time. I made a little gift box.

The Simply Thanks stamp is a freebie I got from Stampin' Up. I had ordered an embossing folder from them but it took so long to come in (on backorder) that when I finally got it they added this stamp at no charge. Totally worth it. And the tree silhouette is a Cricut cut. I know it looks like a stamp in the pics but it's not.

So please play along with your black and white creations at Craft Your Days Away. This challenge runs for 2 weeks. There will be 1 randomly chosen winner, A Top 3, and the next GDT spot all up for grabs!!
On an unrelated note.... I made a card the other night that was likely to be the most disgusting card EVER created by ANYONE. It was so bad it was shocking! I didn't take any pics cus if I showed it to you, you'd have nightmares.

Also for these challenges -
4 Crafty Chicks. STITCHING.
