Here's To a Good Week!

Finally, a Monday where no one in the house is sick!!! I'm so glad! I'm also glad February is almost over. I don't think I've ever suffered from the winter blues before, but this year it's really getting to me. I need to be outdoors. I'm hoping for a mild March.
Today is the beginning of our new challenge at Kaboodle Doodles. It's a recipe challenge. 3-2-1.
3 Designer Papers 2 Solid Papers 1 Embellishment. Fun stuff! Our sponser is the fab Gingerloft and they gave us on the DT some images to play with.

Also fitting for these challenges -

Kaboodle Doodles Time!

Here in Canada we have a holiday today. Family Day. I'd like to take the kids out to the International Center where they have a lot of fun games and crafts and shows today, but don't think it would be a good idea as my daughter is still a little under the weather. Poor thing missed the entire week of school, so I'm hoping she can finally be back on her feet tomorrow.
Today is the beginning of our new challenge at Kaboodle Doodles.
USE A NON-TRADITIONAL FOLD. So make any type of card or project that you wish as long as it fols in an unordinary way. Also - A HUGE thank you to those who joined us last week!! I saw some outstanding work!!!
The winner this week will receive $15 to spend at the Wink Wink Ink! They generously gave us on the DT some images to work with and I decided to make a Stationary Box.

All of the cards - there are 10 of them - follow the same LO. Only the papers and colours are different. 5 of them say Thinking of You and the rest are blank so they can be used for a number of occasions.

Thanks for looking, hope you can play along at Kaboodle Doodles.

LIVE Card & More....

Over at Moxie Fab World they have a number of challenges happening right now. This one appealed to me right away -
Stamping using Glimmer Sprays. I've never used Glimmer Sprays in any way other than to mist a bit of paper or some flowers so I took the opportunity to try something new. For this card, I mixed the sprays with paint.

The LIVE tag has a combination of ink, chalk and sprays. I used Ranger's Perfect Pearls in Sunflower Sparkle and Turquoise.
I chose the colours to match the current challenge at City Crafter. Pink, blue and yellow.

Kinda an unusual type of card. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but I like it. My original sentiment was "Paint the Town" but decided to simplify it to be better suited for the card's style.
Now for the "& More......" There is a fantastic new challenge blog starting March 1st!! You can check it out here - Just Tracy's Craft Challenge. They are a UK based store run by some very talented ladies!! As they've invited me to be a part of the DT, I see some really exciting challenges and outstanding prizes in the near future!!!

Check It Out.

So I received this award today from Laura at Pop 'N Stick.

I wasn't familiar with her work, and what a fun surprise her blog turned out to be!!!
She makes lovely vintage-y glittery cards. She also makes these cards using her own digis and papers that she creates herself. All the images and papers are FREE on her blog, and she's very talented!
Thanks again Laura!

A Love Card.

I adore "shabby" cards. It's not my usual style but when I see one done well I fall in love.
Also, because I don't get much free time for crafting I waited for The Shabby Tea Room, City crafter, and Moxie Fab World to start their new challenge themes, let them simmer in my head for a little, then got to work making one card that could fit them all.
I knew right away that I wanted to use these papers. They're from the October Afternoon collection called Fly a Kite and I think they are just wonderful.
The Shabby Tea Room has this inspirational photo, also use hearts.

City crafter wants to see BOTH silver and gold. I simmered the most over that!
And Moxie Fab World has this photo as the latest Trigger Tuesday.

Goodbye Ribbon Scraps!

Well ,it's Monday. I am pretty sure that today is gonna be a loooooong day for me. At 4 pm, after I pick my daughter up from school, I have to take my boys - for those who don't know, I have 4 year old twin boys - to the doctor for their check-up. They know they have to get their needles today and are so stressed over it. Then were all going to the in-laws for dinner. Then, from there I have to drive back to the school because tonight is Kindergarten registration. I'm hoping to be finished and relaxing in bed by 10 pm.
On the plus side, today starts a fantastic new challenge at Kaboodle Doodles!!
USE UP YOUR OLD RIBBONS. I love this challenge idea!! Our sponser is the fabulous
Stamping Boutique and the randomly chosen winner will receive 5 images!! Check them out, their stamps are great!
So let's see your creations using ribbon, ribbon and more ribbon.

Also for these challenges -
Allsorts. IT MUST BE LOVE.
Simon Says Stamps. LOVE IS IN THE AIR.
Oh, I just love this romantic time of year!! Hopefully my hubby knows me well enough to buy me a pack of designer papers instead of flowers for Valentine's Day ;)

TSTR + City Crafter.

Both have great challenges this week. The Shabby Tea Room is GET CREATIVE. That means no patterned paper, use only basic supplies but in a creative way. Love this idea.
City Crafter is all about LOVE. Use either the word or a heart. So I combined the two ideas for my card. And this one actually turned out pretty close to how I planned it.
The image is from a CD I have. It has tons of great vintage-style clips and I thought this one worked well because it has a lot of white, which I wanted to be the main colour for my card. Then I stamped, inked and chalked the background to reflect it.

The ring that is tied in the bow is made from clay and can be removed from the card and is wearable.

And of course my daughter saw the ring so I'm sure you can guess what she spent the Snow Day yesterday making!! I think she made about 8 different rings, she even made one shaped like a slice of cake. It actually looks pretty good! She's got talent.

Thinking Ahead....

....To November and looking forward to taking part in another bazaar. With that in mind I decided to make an Animal Memory Match game. Such a fun way to spend time with a little one. I knew all those random stamps I'm often buying from the Michael's Dollar bin would come in handy!!

There are 12 cards - 2 each of 6 different animals. And a little box, like with a deck of cards, to hold them.

For these challenges -
Crafts 4 Eternity. USE POLKA DOTS
Sir StampAlot. ALL CREATURES BIG & SMALL.
Stamptacular Sunday. WHATEVA'
Totally Paper Crafts. FOR THE KIDDIES.
