Oh So Girlie.

Making something super feminine is not usually my style. However, once I saw the PASTELS AND PEARLS Inspiration Photo at The Shabby Tea Room I knew I had to try.

My mother-in-law has a bracelet very similar to this, so I decided to make her birthday card. I won't need it for a couple months but that just saves me time to make something else!
This card is also for City Crafter. Their challenge this week is FLOWERS AND FRILLS. Like the Shabby Tea Room, they have some of the most outstanding DT work and some of the enteries are unbeatable (for me!) but so much fun to play along!

Thanks,
Farrah

Christmas Magic.

I found this neat vintage clip art on an old CD of mine. As I couldn't decide which one I liked the most, I decided to get a real jump on my holiday cards and make 4 at once. I used the same LO and style for each. I wanted to give them a worn, beaten look so I used all my known distressing techniques. Ripped edges, inking, stickles, etc....

Then I was all ready to take some pics and my camera up and died! Shaddy piece of machinery! But alls well that ends well. My good friend with photography skills far exceeding mine took these photos for me. I owe her one, for sure!

These cards were made with Sir Stamp Alot and their outrageous goodies bouncing around in my head. (And I ALMOST didn't finish in time!!)

Farrah

Altered Puzzle.

A couple years ago my mom gave this puzzle to my sons. Then they outgrew it, and I was all ready to drop it into the garbage. Then I changed my mind. I didn't actually expect to like the finished results, it began as an experiment. The puzzle used to be bare wood, only the letters were painted. They were bright, primary colours. I wanted to see if I could change the whole look of it! I think it turned out kinda cute. Incase I decide to sell it at the coming bazaar, I made a matching gift tag.

I used die-cuts on the letters. I made a lamb for L...etc...

For these challenges -
The Shabby Tea Room. SCHOOL THEME.
Stampin' for the Weekend. TAG IT.
Stamptacular Sunday. USE A GRID. I'm a faithful player at those 3 challenges. This next one is new to me, I just discovered it while browsing around the last week...
Clearly i Stamp. USE AN OWL.

Kaboodle Doodles #40!

Hi, and happy Monday! Today starts a new challenge for us at Kaboodle Doodles!

It's a sketch this week. And I love this sketch! It's so versatile, you can make any type of card or project with it!! The sponser this week is AI Factory. They're offering a $10.00 voucher for their store. They also generously gave us on the DT some fun images to play with!

I've used an image called Tweethouse. The full image has about a dozen cute birdies around a birdhouse. I enlarged it to make my card, then fussy cut 2 of the birds out.

I look forward to seeing everyone's entries this challenge! And be sure to check out the other DT's work for some great inspiration!!

This card also fits this challenge -
Totally Paper Crafts. Happy Birthday.
Thanks,
Farrah

Bird Key Chain.

I LOVE my - ok, I'll admit it! - WEEKLY trip to Michael's. But even more exciting is when I have the opportunity to get out to my local independant scrapbooking store. It's only about 15 mins away, but they have terrible hours and with 3 kids it's months between visits. However I was there last week and picked up tons of neat little treats!! One of those things was a blank chipboard Maya Road bird-shaped keychain. I made it with three challenges in mind. First, The Shabby Tea Room. Their challenge this week is FRESH LIVING. A perfect Autumn theme. *Audrey, every week I look forward to seeing your work! :o( that you're leaving. *
The second challenge is Sir Stamp Alot. DISTRESS IT. Distressing is one of my favourite techniques. What is NOT one of my favourite things is trying to get a decent pic of a keychain! Really there is no way to lay this out to capture all the elements. So I just took tons of photos!
Thirdly, Paper Sundaes. They want to see a minimum of 3 embellishments. What fun!!

BLOG CANDY!!

*** This post will remain at the top until closing. ***

I'm doing my first ever blog candy! I thought this might be a good time, with Back To School right around the corner. For some of us, having the kids in class means more crafting time!!!
Here are the rules -
1. Add my candy pic to your blog, with a link back to here, to help spread the word!
2. Add your name to Mr.Linky.
That's it! You don't have to be a follower, but I'd love it if you did!!!
Candy closes September 14, 2010 and I will randomly pick a winner the following day.

*** Sorry to ask for thumbnails here! I'm a newbie with Mr.Linky! Any thumbnail will do!!
Thanks, and good luck!!

Starry Party Invites.

I hope everyone had a great weekend! We took the kids to African Lion's Safari yesterday. I wanted to share a pic of my son Adam and I on our first elephant ride! The boy in the front is my friend's son, then Adam, then me. It was great!

Anyhoo, I saw a card in the latest PaperCrafts mag that had a grid embossed on part of it using a Scor-Pal. Well I thought it was a great idea and tried it on some party invites that I was working on. Only I embossed the entire front. (Sure wish I had a better camera that could show it better, but that is not a new complaint for me!)

I made 10 of these, with envelopes, for the coming bazaar, like usual!

All bundled up and ready for November. I decided NOT to make a box this time. Just wrapped in ribbon for something different.

For these challenges -
Stamp Something Spots & Stripes
Charisma Cardz Try Something New.
Fairy Fun Friday Embossing. I just discovered this challenge. I didn't see any rule about using only their digi's, but if that's the case, let me know and I'll remove myself!
Thanks,
Farrah

These are a couple of candle gift sets I put together. Each box holds 4 tealight candles, then I added tags.
